CNN talked to people in Carson's high school class, none of whom remember a violent madman battering people with locks and hammers and most of whom remember a nerdy kid with a pocket protector.

Yes, he was in ROTC a few years after this happened.  What is your point?   He can't have had a violent temper because he had thick glasses?    Have you ever been around kids with behavioral problems?  They don't all fit stereotype.
