I'd guess for TNF discussing politics & elections (and what that usually entails in today's landscape) became just as meaningless to him as TNF's brand is to modern politics, the two both sides of the same coin. Endless discussion on the merits of liberal & conservative policies/election campaigns, with your own forgotten, starts to feel like hanging around on a forum for a band you could no longer care less about. That's basically what happened with me, anyway.

RIP FF/comrade.

OK TNF at one point defended North Korea and proclaimed it as an example of modern day communism's success today while condemning Sanders and social democracy. Whether you consider Sanders to be truly socialist was not my point. It's if you consider North Korea preferable like that filth did.

Why? At least TNF seemed to be interested in engaging in discussions and explaining his views instead of just "muh destroy capitalism (normal, sane), fyck the bourgeoisie" etc. I learned things from some of TNF's posts, even if I disagree with them.

     I don't agree with BRTD on a lot, but he's right here. TNF defending North Korea is pretty bad stuff. He was an alright guy when we talked in IRC, but his political perspective is not really one that is missed.
