Glad to know Rauner won't be facing any strong opposition.

It doesn't look like Rauner will have much to run on, just gridlock. Meanwhile, Pat will be able to run on having legalized gay marriage, legalized medical marijuana, abolished the death penalty, and being the people's governor. While he wasn't the best governor, the state actually got stuff done under him, while former Republican governors are saying the state is in its worst position ever. I would think Quinn would win this race, as long as it isn't another wave election year for the Republicans (certainly won't be if a Republican wins the White House next fall!). I mean, if my uncle, a very conservative county CFO, is likely to support a Dem next time around because Rauner is running a messy government, Rauner is toast....

Rauner ran on ethics and against corruption. It looks likes business as usually, like DC, its not the Dems that will take that hit next time. Especially, since health care services & education are being defunded due to gridlock. Rauner campaigned against.

He hasnt won one budger battle with Madigan. This race, although wont have the Corbett spread, but will have the Corbett feel to it. Pa, ME & IL are likely Dem next time around.

Literally anyone but the guy that managed to lose in Illinois would be preferable.

How about Martha Coakley?

Why is this guy considering running again, and why does Atlas have such a hard-on for him? He's a positively milquetoast, unremarkable and easily forgettable loser.

I meant of politicians in Illinois, not the rest of the country. Though Blagojevich would be worse than Quinn.

In their respective states yeah, Coakley, Braley, Anthony Brown, Akin, would be/are worse.

They could try a recall in the 2016 election. Big advantage: High Democratic turnout. Rauner's low numbers will likely stay for a while.

Recall of a Gov in IL requires an affadavit signed by at least 10 Senators and 20 House members. The signatures must include equal numbers of Dems and Pubs, since there are no other parties represented in the GA.
