So far, it reinforced the (already quite strong) notion that as bad as things have gotten for Democrats in the interior South, it will continue to get worse. Once Manchin retires and McCaskill retires/is defeated, I imagine Democrats will be unable to win Senate representation in the South and the border states outside of VA, NC, FL, MD, and DE (also possibly GA and TX eventually). That's essentially 24 uncontested Republican Senate seats, and that sucks.
