Democrats always want stricter regulations on the private sector so Democrats should want gloves to be worn. What if someone goes to the bathroom or has their hand down their pants and touches your food?

these rules should be set by the business, not the government.
Perhaps a (private)National Cleanliness of Restaurants Confederation(NCRC)? I'd hope there would be a good way to see if a business was part of it, though, which would be an issue.

As someone who worked in the industry it depends on the job.  Handling food that is in its ready to eat form definitely.  But have you ever tried to apply dry rub to a boston butt with gloves on?
