About as close to an actual Fascist as physically possible without actually being one(That doesn't mean that I won't call him a fascist, however).

HP, withdrew France from NATO agreements, blocked Britain getting into the EU and basically acted as if he was the only person to liberate france in 1944

Well the guy literally fought for freedom so there's that. Bit of an arsehat and an autocrat in power, and his loathing of the Anglosphere based on petty nationalism is very tiresome. Still, there could have been worse people to lead postwar France.

Overly concerned with being a Great Man of History. Still, almost always superior to the alternative.

As a whole, probably the one of the greatest western leaders of the 20th century. France's current government should stop being American lackeys and look to his withdrawl from Algeria and NATO command as inspiration.

He helped get my friend's mom out of East Germany when she decided to sneak over on a trip to Berlin - so FF for that.

Seems like an independent-minded leader who looked out for his country's best interests, not to mention his resistance against Nazi Germany.  FF.

Can sometimes be useful I guess...

Would reach Syria by the end of the week.

Toward the complicated Middle-East I was flying with simple ideas

...Charles de Gaulle

HP, withdrew France from NATO agreements, blocked Britain getting into the EU and basically acted as if he was the only person to liberate france in 1944

Hey, you just cited all the reasons why you used the wrong first letters.

The last one might be the best. Grin

Though, it would be part of some of the problems we're dealing with now nowadays, we might have a few things to shrink. And unlike Germans, we never really did, which can give a sometimes fancy effect, but which can also be sometimes kinda counter-productive to say the least...

2 former others were the sanest things to do.

As a whole, probably the one of the greatest western leaders of the 20th century. France's current government should stop being American lackeys and look to his withdrawl from Algeria and NATO command as inspiration.

Hmm, not sure to which French govt you can refer, we're not speaking about UK, his inspirration about geopolitics is still rather up, and that might be the only thing still up amongst French politics.

and his loathing of the Anglosphere based on petty nationalism is very tiresome.

Well, only an Anglo ought to think that.

About as close to an actual Fascist as physically possible

Well, not sure there is a rate about that, but when you look at 1930s physical standards of fascism then he's FF all the way!

FF but also kind of dick but also kind of a charming dick.

Yeah. Grin

But the best answer goes to...

It's hard to resist to anything French, isn't it? ^^
