America, World Herald Peaceful Transition of Power in Historic Election
WASHINGTON, AMERICA – BY MAHMOUD AL HUSSAIN
January 20, 2017

It was a chilly winter morning as the smiling former opposition leader took the oath of office.  Clad in a hoodie (an ethnic American garb roughly equivalent to a hooded sweatshirt), John Ellis Bush was sworn in on a ceremonial Bible.  The symbolism was clear --- after years of secular authoritarianism, America was returning to a democratic, but Christian government, reflective of the values of the deeply religious nation.

The cold weather did not deter a large crowd from gathering for the occasion --- the American people have dealt with far worse over the course of their young nation's history.  The numerous war memorials scattered around the city are a stark reminder of the collective trauma that the people of America have experienced over the years.

The atmosphere around the capital of the North American nation was surprisingly jubilant.  The city, named after the nation's first President, is populated predominantly by the Negroes (colloquially referred to as blacks) --- the ethnic group of deposed President Barack Hussein Obama.  Indeed, throughout the course of his reign, the Blacks were some of the most committed supporters of the regime, which has led many international observers to worry about the fate of the marginalized ethnic group in the wake of the transition of power.

Deposed dictator Barack Hussein Obama remains popular among fellow ethnic Blacks.

Although polling is notoriously difficult and unreliable in the large, diverse American nation, it is believed that nearly ninety-five percent of Blacks voted for Hillary Clinton, the candidate most associated with the old Obama regime and his ruling Democratic Party.  The election of Clinton, a woman, was viewed as unlikely by foreign observers in the deeply conservative, patriarchal American nation notorious for its restriction of female reproduction rights.  However, as a member of the ruling elite, former Foreign Minister Clinton was granted opportunities that few of her fellow countrywomen ever had access to.  Nevertheless, she was constantly accused by both domestic and foreign observers as being a front for her husband, former President William Clinton.

This sentiment was echoed by Benjamin Carson, one of the many ethnic Blacks gathered in the crowd to witness the transition of power.  “Everybody knew that Clinton was just a front for her husband.  And her husband is a liar.  America doesn't need a liar as its President.”

But most Blacks gathered around for the event were understandably suspicious of the new President.  The Bush clan, members of the majority White ethnic group, has drawn international condemnation for alleged human rights violations during their periods of rule.  George Bush, John's father, ran what has been described as a White nationalist campaign, largely based off the scapegoating of the Black ethnic minority.  During his Presidency, he continued a mass campaign of terror, incarcerating Blacks and many other perceived opponents in America's notorious prison system --- the world's largest --- under the guise of an anti-narcotics campaign.  Also named George is his son, John's brother, former President and governor of the oil-rich southwestern Texas province.  The younger George is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged ethnic cleansing of Blacks in the aftermath of Hurricane Katina.  John, too, has been criticized for his  previous tenure as governor of the southeastern Florida province, home to White terrorist George Zimmerman and notorious for its violent ethnic strife.

The American Presidential Palace, known as the White House.  It was built by ethnic Black slaves in the earliest, most war-torn years of the nation.

Nevertheless, the international community has lauded the peaceful transition of government after what was considered by election observers to be a largely free and fair election --- a rarity in the North American nation with a history of systematic voter disenfranchisement and political violence.

“The international community welcomes America with open arms,” Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a statement released by the government Monday.  “We hope that this successful election is the first of many and that America continues its transition towards peaceful government.”

Others were more critical.  The general sentiment was echoed in a short statement by Soviet President Vladimir Putin, who has been one of America's staunchest critics.  Nevertheless, he announced that Russia would still maintain its defensive commitments to its nearby ally, Canada, which had been subject to multiple American invasions in the past.  The joint Warsaw Pact military exercise along the  American border is expected to occur later this week.

The Cuban Foreign Minister, Mark Ruby, himself the son of American refugees, was even less forgiving, vowing that the island nation would maintain its embargo on the North American nation until the regime adopted a more democratic form of government.  “Sure, they had an election,” Ruby said, taking a swig from a water bottle before continuing, “but will anything actually change?  The 'opposition' follows the same ideology as the government, and the human rights violations will likely only continue.  The American workers don't even own the means of production, for crying out loud!  How can they call that democracy?  And don't even get me started on the electoral college....”
