Or put another way, picture the political compass with two axes; interesting/boring and nice/mean. An HP is only merited if they are in the boring/mean quadrant.

I don't really see him in that quadrant despite his eccentric views. He posts interesting maps and as far as I've seen his opponents are waaaay bigger jerks to him than he is to them.

there are some cases where you can't separate the person from their views. this is one of them.

He's not even an interesting ideologue. He just posts links to websites that advocate his views. Out of this forum's far-right posters, I'd much prefer someone like Cassius, who at least takes time to articulate his views. That is definitely not true of Thomas from NJ.

Exactly, imagine if we had an open neo-Nazi poster and people said "oh hey I strongly disagree with Hans on the Jewish question but he's a perfectly nice guy other than that and I love talking about soccer (football) with him!"

His views are terrible, but I don't see any reason to think he isn't a nice but misguided person in real life.

"His views suggest he's kind of a theocratic fascist, but nice guy FF!!"

This is why Atlas is dying.

I don't understand how someone can say he's an FF in spite of his views, given his views are the only thing I've seen him post about. What else is he posting about that trumps his terrible politics?

And it's not like his terrible views are interesting, given his main contributions are just dropping links to fascist websites.

Meh, maybe I'm wrong. I haven't actually looked at that many of his posts. I tend to have an "FF until proven HP" philosophy with Atlas posters, but if he's really that bad, then I would change my vote if I could.

No, I'm not. I probably would have voted for the Independent Greeks if I could have voted in the last Greek election.
