Marco Rubio/Ken Buck 345 Electoral Votes
Hillary Clinton/Joe Manchin 193 Electoral Votes

With 2016 over Hillary Clinton lost by a giant margin to the Republican Ticket of Marco Rubio and Ken Buck. The Rubio/Buck Administration is turning out to be popular on the vast majority of issues including Getting Rid of the IRS, establishing a pro-family tax and getting out of the UN. The Rubio/Buck Administration is going into the 2018 Elections with over a 60% approval rating. Also, the amount of socialists and tea party republicans have skyrocketed. This will be one exciting election.

Rubio isn't taking us out of the UN and he isn't picking a one term Congressman to be VEEP.

But alternate realities have to be based in reality for them to have a point of departure. Do you even Alternate History bro?

Part I

Wisconsin Gubernatorial

Sheriff David Clarke is the Republican Nominee for Senate, he is running against Russ Feingold who lost the Senate race in 2016 by just over 3,000 votes. Clarke has been endorsed by all living current and former governors and cabinet secretaries of the state and the Wisconsin Police Union as well as the National Rifle Association. Feingold on the other hand has been endorsed by Senator Tammy Baldwin and the majority of labor unions and cheese producers. The race is currently rated as Tossup.

Mississippi Senatorial

Chris McDaniel won the Republican Primary after a tough runoff which was even closer than 2014. The Republican Party establishment barely supported McDaniel especially after many racist comments and jokes he said. Haley Barbour and his family are supporting the Democratic Candidate running, who is the states Attorney General. McDaniel though has been endorsed by the governor, all congress critters and many party activists. The AG on the other hand has been endorsed by the Barbour family and many establishment republican and democrats. The race is currently rated Lean Republican

Let me give some viewpoint on how these events happened, Buck was considered the backup candidate after Rubios top choice Governor Christie didn't win the first three ballots at the convention. On the fifth ballot Buck was selected as a compromise candidate. Rubio get out of the UN after a new global deal was tried to be put in place and a growing majority in congress calling for the US to withdraw from it after the UN got rid of Israel from its ranks.

In 2017 Sheriff Clarke switched Politcal parties after disagreeing with his country party on a multitude of issues including guns, law and order and to some extent abortion and taxes.

Part II

Washington 7th Congressional District

Kshama Sawant launched a run this year for the 7th Congressional District as a representative of the Socialist Alternative Party. While, the Republican and Democratic parties have both rallied around current Congressman Jim McDermont a long time incumbent. Sawant has been endorsed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Bernie Sanders and the mayor of Seattle. McDermont on the other hand has been endorsed by both the Republican and Democratic Establishment. This race is currently rated Tossup and is the closest race in the country.

Massachusetts 6th Congressional District

State Representative Leah Cole is launching a conservative candidacy in one of the most liberal states in the country. Essex County which President Rubio won by just 59 votes is hoping that this moderate bastion of the state will elect a Conservative Republican in Leah Cole as their Representative. The Democrats are again launching their best candidate and a likely contender for the 2020 Presidential Election, Congressman Seth Moulton. Cole has been endorsed by President Rubio and Ron Paul along with Richard Tisei and many local moderate politicians. Moulton on the other hand has been endorsed by the Democratic rank and file and local party activists and a big one in Fmr. President Barack Obama. The race is currently rated Lean Democrat.

Part III

Minnesota 3rd Congressional District

Nekima Levy Pounds is currently challenging incumbent Erik Paulsen, who is the Majority Whip. Levy Pounds is the President of the Minneapolis NAACP and a committed Black Lives Matter activist. She is gaining support in traditional democratic communities while losing support amongst whites and Jews. Paulsen on the other hand has received the endorsement of the Minnesota Police and Senator Norm Coleman and Governor Michelle Bachmann. The race is rated Lean Republican.

Alabama Gubernatorial

Chief Justice Roy Moore came out of the primary with 67% of the vote. After Governor Bentley retired Bentley faced what seemed to be an uphill primary against the a very popular State Senator who announced that he was gay during the primary season. Moore has been endorsed by tea party governors across the country including Matt Bevin, Michelle Bachmann, John Brunner and Rick Becker he has also been endorsed tentatively by much of the party establishment. Moore's opponent who is a restaurant owner from Birmingham has been endorsed by many moderate GOPers and LGBT activists even though he is more conservative than Moore on the issue. The race is rated Safe Republican.

Lol if the US left the UN then it would become even more anti-Israel as the US is the one nation that often vetoes 99% of UN stuff relating to Israel

What's Happened in the States since 2016

Minnesota: After, Michelle Bachmann's election to the governorship in 2014 and super majorities for the GOP in both the House and Senate. Minnesota has become a bastion of the Tea Party, new laws have been put in place including one that makes Minnesota a right to work state and created the Bible as the state book which created a Supreme Court case which will be talked about later.

Kentucky: When the GOP gained a majority in 2016, Matt Bevin made the state right to work and he even created a new position regarding the bible, he also got rid of Obamacare and sued the Federal Government on behalf of the coal mining industry with West Virginia and Ohio. Bevins right to work law has changed Right to Work for the rest of time which also caused a Supreme Court Case.

Alabama: Even though Roy Moore and Chad Mathis have been selected as the GOP nominees for Governor and Lt. Governor the state is even more conservative. The State Constitution Party has two state senate seats and five state representative seats. This year the Constitution Party is bringing a tough challenge with the Attorney General race this year, which with the most current poll their leading the Democratic challenger by 2 points.

Johnson v. Massachusetts: The Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that being forced to join a labor union broke the 1st Admendment to the Constitution, effectively ruiling that Right to Work is now protected by the Constitution.

So how did the Constitution Party randomly pick up a bunch of seats in Alabama when their only potential candidate (Roy Moore) is the GOP nominee?

This timeline, which is apparently set in 2018, is riddled with an electoral impossibility: Minnesota has no senate or gubernatorial election in 2016, so unless this timeline either a) forces Mark Dayton, Tina Smith (Lt. Gov.), and either Klobuchar or Franken into abrupt, midterm retirement or death, or b) messed with 2014 without directly mentioning it, there is literally no way to get a Governor Michele Bachmann or Senator Norm Coleman.

Thanks for creating the laughingstock timeline of the forum, CC.

If you don't like the timeline don't read it but there's no reason for this if you don't like it.

My timelines are SO unpopular compared to yours, Sanchez.
I'm no Franz Kafka, but yeah, my Reagan '68 timeline (shameless plug, it's being reformated and a 2000-2020 timeline is also underway) is pretty good. Thanks for the compliment Dar!
