Preliminary ratings for last night's debate on the Fox Business Network show that 13.5 million people watched, down slightly from the 14 million who watched the CNBC debate.  1.4 million people live streamed the debate on Fox Business' website.

Fox Business is less carried on cable than CNBC, sometimes included in a more expensive tier, but I think Fox Business was giving free previews of the channel on many cable and satellite systems.  That doesn't mean people who usually don't get the channel even knew where to watch.

The kiddie table debate preliminarily drew 4.7 million viewers.  With those ratings, it's probably not going away any time soon.

The 1.4 million concurrent Internet livestreams is a new record, surpassing the CNN Democratic debate (980,000), and equalling this year's Super Bowl.

Christie might have a chance after all.

I'm proud to be part of the 1.4 million people who streamed the debate online. My wife and I hooked up a laptop to our plasma TV and watched the debate like that. We don't have cable because we are cheap and don't watch much TV.

I was driving so I listened to the debate on Fox Business channel on Sirius XM. Do they count that in any of their stats?

I doubt it.  SiriusXM isn't even rated by Arbitron let alone Nielsen.
