I think my favorite is that according to the municipality's travel and entertainment guide, there is 1 farmer's market. Close runner up (and this one's a shocker): there is also 1 walkable city! (This is the 2nd fact they list!!)

What are your favorite tidbits about Hudson, New York?

In 1790, it had over 7% of the population of New York City and well over half the population of Albany.

It was the third largest city in NY per the 1790 census. NYC had about 33,000 people, Albany 3,300 or something, and Hudson about  2,700 as I recall. It missed becoming the capital in lieu of Albany by one vote in the state legislature. The factoid most folks are interested in, is that it had the most famous red light district on the East coast until Governor Dewey in 1952 or so sent in a swat team of about a 100 state law enforcement officials, and raided all the brothels at once, and shut them down. 4 police officers were there at the time as patrons. In upstate NY, Hudson had the honor of being in the big four as the most corrupt towns, along with Newburgh, Utica and Schenectady.

That its unusual voting system was capable of spawning an Atlas thread so arcane and weedsy that even I had to check out and stop reading.  It's quite the feat.

I like that it has a burgeoning population of elderly gay busybodies.

With the edit, the statement is actually quite accurate. Smiley

Wait, weren't you ready to file a lawsuit over some bullsh**t voting map or some such nonsense.   I read Jimrtex scolding you about it. If that's not the definition of a busybody, what is?

Following the law I guess has a higher priority for myself, than you, apparently. You're also mischaracterizing what Jimrtex posted, but I digress.

What Jimrtex said was you had no standing and were a busybody.   That was my impression

No, standing is a legal term, meaning that you can show no personal harm. But I can, and beyond that, it will be a group, and all within the group will be able to show various harms. That is the plan anyway.

It has a lot of great bed and breakfasts. (My preferred one is The Inn at Hudson)
