Huh.  I went to high school with her.  Ran cross country together.  Pity.

Immigration was always going to be an issue, but Trump is correct that he has really shaped the debate on the GOP side. Both Cruz and Rubio are now trying to run as far away from their past positions as possible.

Last week Rubio said he would end (the very popular with Latinos) DACA program, even if Congress doesn't pass any other relief for DREAMers. Yesterday Rubio said "people will have to be deported" and he said it on camera. I suspect that Hillary's team is already prepping the ad they will use that in.

I'm sorry but just because Rubio speaks Spanish and is Cuban and once supported immigration reform, by the time this primary season is over there is no way he can emerge with the ability to get anywhere near the levels of Latino support that Bush got in 2004. He has already moved too close to Romney 2012 rhetoric and there are many more months left. There is no way he can pivot back.

GOP has pretty much decided to forgo any attempt at winning any significant part of the Hispanic vote, apparently.

Yep, there's very little chance of the Bush'04 path to victory working now.

If Hispanics in 2004 voted by the margin they did in 2012, Kerry would have (barely) won the poplar vote.  New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, and Florida would have all been in danger of flipping.
