The President's comments including his assessment that "ISIS Has Been Contained, Not Gaining Strength" were released on Friday, Nov 13th.  From ABC News:
- In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's Good Morning America that was broadcasted Friday, President Obama said ISIS has been "contained."

Of course, later that day, the horrible terrorist attacks, claimed by Isis, occurred in Paris, France.  This certainly seems to be a golden opportunity to try to hammer home the idea that the administration is not properly engaged in a threat to the Western World.

Well, militarily, they have been increasingly contained, hence why they're lashing out in small-scale attacks.

The Obama administration appears out of its depth with regards to ISIS.  First he calls it the JV squad.  Now this.

He doesn't treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

Probably a bit, but it's not like it will be another "you didn't build that"

The risk, of course, is people not understanding ISIS as a military actor in the Middle East versus their terrorist actions outside of the theatre of war.

Sadly you may be right. Obama has basically done nothing drastically wrong in regards to Daesh recently (at least compared to your average Republican policy, which is either "SHOCK AND AWE" machismo nonsense or committing to a full-scale war with Daesh, Assad and Putin at once) but people genuinely will want the shock and awe, and damn the consequences.

Further proof that the GOP would've annihilated Al Gore for 9/11.

Despite the fact that I disagree with our President's "policy" towards ISIS, he was merely saying here that ISIS had not militarily advanced within the Middle East, which is correct.

For the poll question, of course Republicans will try to use it but to what end? At the debate tonight Hillary said ISIS "cannot be contained. It must be destroyed."

The so called "Islamic State" has been losing ground recently notably in the Kurdish areas recently. And even if they get entirely driven out of Iraq (which is still a long way off) they will still be able to conduct and inspire terror attacks in the West.
