WHo do you think won the 2nd Democratic debate?

Do you think it was better without Webb and Chafee?

Will O'Malley be in the 3rd debate?

Hillary, though her Wall Street/9-11 answer was all sorts of bad.

Overall it was pretty close, but Clinton probably edges out on top slightly.

The closest debate IMO. The 2nd half was a real coming together moment for Democrats and I think we learned a lot about them tonight. I have to say that I feel Bernie took it home with his domestic policy and his great one-liners.

I thought Sanders won, though it was pretty much a tie between all three.

Yes, O'Malley will stick around, and yes, better without Chafee and Webb snoozefests.

The divide between this site and AH.com on this question is shocking.

Pretty balanced overall.  Clinton did well with foreign policy, Sanders with domestics.  They both had good and poor moments.  I doubt this will change much (much like the 1st debate), which is good for Clinton.

Isn't the CW that the first debate changed much by reversing Clinton's slide?

I believe Hillary won, but all three candidates did very well. If anything hurts Hillary tonight, it's the whole $12/hour minimum wage thing.

Clinton was strong where I expected her to be, Sanders for him and the guy down the end? Meh.

It probably ends up doing nothing - so it helps Clinton overall.

I get the impression from this debate that Sanders is overrated and O'Malley is underrated.

Won't change the current polling.

But i think sanders supporters are finally realizing the dream scenario for them of Bernie somehow forcing Hillary to "burst and act like the secret rightwinger she always has been and then bernie will be able to sweep up the progressige votes from her". Has been a pipe dream.

I think Clinton won.

Also, I'll say I think this was the best debate so far.

I'd give Sanders the slight win here. He lost on foreign policy with many stunted/confused answers along with a cringeworthy pivot from the Paris attacks to his billionaire stump speech, but he bested Hillary on most of the economic parts by effectively positioning himself to her left and showing more passion and enthusiasm. Hillary did close well, which helps her. The moderator was obviously heavily biased against Hillary, but even considering that I'd still say Sanders came out ahead. Also helping Sanders is the fact that recency bias helps him, his worst moments were near the start which aren't going to be as impactful as the later stuff.

The poll results so far are surprising. As the Forum's #1 Hillary hack (at least formerly), I never thought I'd be going against a pro-Hillary consensus like this. Is Atlas still heavily pro-Sanders, or have things changed?

That's the narrative, but Clinton had actually been stable/improving since late September.  The debate probably reinforced the trend, but I think its impact is overstated.  Imo, Biden's exit did much more to improve her polling.

I do find it amusing that the "Hillary is scared of debates!!111!" talking point is still around when she took her opponents to the cleaners last time.

Hillary Clinton won the debate. Bernie did okay, but he looked naive on some of the foreign policy issues.

Everybody even for people who supported her, did fear she wasnt so good at debates.

Anywhere ranging from "she wont be liberal enough" to "she might not of prepared enough" and my hated one where "hillary obviously will underperform because she was crushed in a landslide by obama in the 2008 primary!(even though she won the popular vote)

I find it interesting that this forum overwhelmingly thinks Clinton won the debate.  Forum Democrats are actually pretty evenly divided between Clinton and Sanders, so I'm guessing Republicans are putting her over the top.
