I don't trust this kind of snap polling.

Only 19% were under 45? Nice try, PPP.

A poll this soon after the debate is worthless since post debate media spin is arguably even more impactful on public opinion than the debate itself.

But if it ends up being even remotely accurate, it would be quite stunning. Since IIRC this is an even bigger margin than polls said Hillary won the first debate by, and that one seemed like a far more open/shut case than this one.

Indeed, hence why I don't trust these kinds of polls. But if you start on this PPP is in Hillary's pocket BS again ...

Well, it doesn't help that they've been rather consistently pro Hillary in this primary.

Maybe PPP doesn't think a lot of young voters watched the debate tonight because it's a Saturday night?

Maybe that's why they didn't poll the first debate, which was one a weekday.

FWIW the last Democratic debate had 31% of the 16M viewers were in the 25-54 demographic. We will know how many are 'in the demo' when the ratings come out. But I bet it is less than the last debate because it is Sat.

Seems as though they have been overpolling older voters and ignoring the youth vote that carried Obama to victory last time.

Maybe, but claiming conspiracy around every corner, as the Sandernistas did after the first debate only made you guys look unhinged. If PPP is wrong, they'll suffer, they're still on probation with me after the 2014 debacle.

OK, this is the most useful sentence from the poll. No conspiracy needed.

Not sure what the correct # is, but the TV audiences for these debates are extremely old:

This is kinda interesting:

These debate audiences are ooooold.

Or didn't watch it and are relying on Redit and FB to tell them Bernie won.

When most polling companies ask who won the debate, do they isolate the responses among debate watchers only, or let everyone respond? If it's the latter, it could explain these particular results...at least somewhat. Because it strikes me as extremely implausible that people think Hillary won this debate by a larger margin than she won the first one. I'd love to be wrong about that though. Smiley

Like we should have taken the online polls seriously that should Sanders as the real winner?

But seriously, no I don't take it too seriously at all.

Or maybe PPP doesn't think a lot of young voters watched the debate because debate audiences are, outside of the Atlas crowd, quite old regardless of party.

Most people are just voting for whoever they support.  The ballot numbers are almost exactly the same as the debate winner numbers.

Or even on their cell phones. At least the CBS debate was streamed live on mobile apps, don't know about the other debates.

IIRC, the CNN Democratic debate had ~1 million people streaming online.  Far smaller than the TV audience.  I think olds just watch these things in far greater #s than youngs.  Which isn't surprising.  The audience for all news shows skews pretty old.
