Democrats think Trump is a racist, sexist, homophobic, um did I forget any... transphobic?  Body shaming?  Whatever.  They think he's an idiot lunatic bigot.

Republicans think Trump is a stupid clown with no ideas who makes a mockery of the political system.

Are they underrating him?  I'm no great Trump fan but from my perspective, he's held his own in four debates, played the political game extraordinarily well, and showed at least a bare-bones understanding of the issues mixed in with a few kooky ideas, but nothing utterly ludicrous.  Does Trump deserve more respect and credit than he gets?

Trump is latching onto a very important anti-establishment trend in American politics, and absolutely deserves credit for being able to get where is is now. Most people are not impressed with our government's "recovery" and are now looking for other options. This is why Trump with his immigrant bashing and Sanders with his speaking out against corporate finance are captivating such huge audiences.

Remember, Trump is a TV star. He knows exactly how to manipulate the media and public perception to win over the attention he wants. While I may be personally disgusted by the sort of things he says, there's a helluva lot of people who are yearning for the kind of strong-man "I'll sort out Putin and ISIS and make America great again" spirit that Trump offers as a candidate.

He vocalized the most rational foreign policy of any of the Republican candidates during the last debate. He's an intellectual heavyweight who knows how to use burgeoning new technologies to his advantage. He understands simple language, how forceful simple things can be, and knows when to go tough and when to pull back. His instagram ads are about 500x more effective than the average Jeb??? Bush ad and 100x more effective than most of the other peoples ads because they waste no time and get to the point. Trump is a master campaigner and a surprising natural.

Not to mention he's the most moderate Republican - he loves imminent domain, he's never denied supporting single payer, supports taxing hedge fund guys, thinks campaigning financing is ridiculous, ect. Every other Republican fights over who can give the most to the wealthiest while only mildly disagreeing on immigration and maybe on gays, but otherwise completely agree on every other issue. And yet his strength, and his heavy push on immigration, has caused him to get the support of both very conservative Republicans and GOP moderates.

He absolutely deserves to be treated with respect. The media is too stupidly wrapped up in verbose politician talk and the allure of people like WIGGLY ARMS and Jeb??? to really give him the credit he deserves.

Dems would rather run against Trump than Jeb. But, Trump isnt the candidate like the others. Jeb can unite the partuy and win a natl campaign. Trump is gaffe prone on immigration, and Latinos aren t unified behind him. That's why Fems he's easier to beat.
