I expected this kind of craven behavior from Rauner, didn't quite expect it from Baker. Very disappointing.

Doesn't really matter, law and court precedent states that the President has total authority over refuge policy. Obama can do whatever he wants.

Good, this is what the people want, and its very sensible in the wake of the Paris attacks.  Rahm even declined to criticize the decision when asked about it.  There is bipartisan support for this

Weren't we supposed to believe that Baker was this great moderate? I never bought it and this just proves it.

He also refused to give his support to it, so where's the bipartisan support?

"The United States government is reviewing anybody and all of their papers. That's a year away from the present moment. My one word is, security and our values go hand in hand. The United States government is in the vetting process, but our values are one in which we remind ourselves that we are an open, welcoming society. So the United States government, in conjunction, is actually vetting any of the migrants that are going to Europe." - Rahm

If he opposed it he would have flat out said so.  This is Emmanuel we're talking about, he has no qualms about attacking Rauner.  The fact that he declined to speaks for itself

This. The US has no obligation to take these people in, especially in the wake of recent events and their refusal to assimilate. This is far too risky.

What he said is in no way sufficient to declare bipartisan support in Illinois for this.

Additionally, you exaggerate Rahm's criticism of Rauner. Of course he has had some clashes with the Governor - he's a Democratic mayor of a city that voted firmly against the Republican governor. Yet, how can one not agree that Rahm and Rauner have a relatively good relationship considering the circumstances?

In addition to them being friends for many years, Rahm has governed the city as a moderate who is willing to evaluate decisions on pragmatism rather than ideology. They've gotten along better than any Rahm alternative or predecessor would have in the circumstances.

Funny, five days before the election you fail to note that your candidate, Democrat John Bel Edwards, after flipping and flopping, has hopped on what the original poster called "the crazy train:"

http://thehayride.com/2015/11/if-the-syrian-migrant-issue-matters-to-louisiana-voters-john-bel-edwards-has-some-problems/

John Bel Edwards position went from "accommodat[ing]" Syrian refugees to "assist[ing]" Syrian refugees to a moratorium ["...before we move any further"] in a matter of hours.

If refugees had no economic or cultural repercussions, then why aren't places begging to get them? If anything, Israel should take them

We should be setting up safe zones in Syria for the refugees.

It doesn't matter anyway, none of these people have the authority to make this decision, because they are not the President.

Nikki Haley and Terry Branstad have both said that their states will still welcome Syrian refugees, albiet with increased scrutiny.

My governor continues to be an FF.

She's running for Senate and probably doesn't want Ayotte to bring it up.

Terry Branstad is quite a surprise, suppose this is his last ride so he doesn't have to give a sh**t what the wing nuts say.

I wouldn't call it crazy. Some of these are merely cautious.

This. Until now I genuinely didn't think Free Bird was a racist.

I think blue and yellow avatars are usually pretty good indicators of this in general.
