The blue avatars on here realize that the terrorists in the Paris Attacks were French nationals, right?

You are a blue avatar, your highness, and thankfully improve our collective image with your undefinable grace and wisdom.

Kasich isn't, never has been, and never will be a "moderate" by any stretch of the imagination.  Then again neither are 90% of the sh**tty moderate hero blue avatars on this forum.

You dont consider me moderate

In other news, this thread offers the clearest example yet of why I can longer stomach consciously identifying with the GOP. Smiley And I'm a neo-con, to boot!

Refugee topic aside:

Just because they aren't a socialist doesn't mean they have to change their political views to be moderate on their political views. There are many centrists here who lean both left and right on many issues, and I'm one of them. Moderate doesn't translate to political interests that d32123 shares. So many people lately riding out the "crappy moderates" train on Atlas as if they're there to win over the left's views or the right's. Sorry.

I literally don't even understand what this means.

You know exactly what it means. You and many others around the forum bitch about moderates because they aren't radically left or aligning with your exact views, as if the definition of a moderate isn't "centrist and not partisan on all views."

Accurate.

I was recently asked which one of the 2016 Republican candidates is least troubling. (Meaning, if the Republicans win a pickup of the presidency with Election 2016.) I told the person that none of them are acceptable—and that includes Ohio governor John Kasich.

This is coming from the view of an Arab and a Muslim. We can't take in the refugees because there are well documented ISIS/DA'ESH sympathizers among them and if we don't have a stringent requirements for them we can't let them in. It's not racist to refuse to let them in its not like we don't want them it's just we don't know who truly is a refugee and who isn't.

A glass of water which only has 5% poison.  Would you drink it?
I am in agreement with Theshadowabyss here.

I am okay with refugee but the vetting process must be tough and lengthy.  Something Europe did taking in a huge amount of people within very short amount of time is unacceptable.

Is it inhumane in a way from a refugee perspective to slow down the process?  Yes.

But the government has a responsibility to the people within their border first.

It is extremely funny how people said most of the Paris bombers are 2nd generation citizens.  And that is the key, people who are western educated, sometimes in middle class or higher with higher education degree, and still turn out to be terrorists.  Much less refugees who had years been in the middle east surrounded by anti west propaganda.

Friendly reminder to everyone that we have taken in hundreds of thousands of refugees and immigrants over the past 20 years from Muslim countries like Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Kuwait, and Afghanistan and there have been virtually no problems.

Unfortunately, France at some point could have probably said the same thing...

Actually, I'd go further and say it's an example of how the party system has outlasted its usefulness. As I've mentioned elsewhere,  I believe the No Labels (http://www.nolabels.org/) and Open Primaries (http://www.openprimaries.org/) organizations represent steps in the right direction...

The interesting thing about the refugee crisis is there have been no published polling. I think this would tend to tell me that the polling is very very negative for those wanting refugees. If the public supported refugees entering the country, youd see it in polling.

Yes, clearly the politically well-connected Big Refugee lobby is keeping the figures down.

Well we know for a fact that polling outfits have suppressed polls in the past that didnt fit the leftwing narrative. Just two weeks ago a polling firm didnt report Bevin was leading by near double digits over Conway.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Association of Evangelicals, and Anti-Defamation League all support the continued resettlement of refugees.

Even France will continue to resettle refugees.
