When or if it all is this map possible due to demographic and partisan platform change?

I used fantasy names in an open (relative close) race. With current EC numbers,  the Democrat wins with 296-242.

DEM: California Governor Preston Beame/Florida Congressman Ricardo Diaz: 50.5%
REP: Attorney General Clark E. Thomson/New Mexico Senator Isabel Blumenthal: 48.5%

I mean... At what point in the future?

Going far enough, anything is possible.

One of my favorite futuristic maps that I developed a long time ago and still use quite frequently is this:

It's meant for around 2060. Swings/safes are as follows:

It does assume quite drastic demographic changes, but current trends could make it plausible.

What "current trends" show the entire Midwest (yet alone half of New England) becoming safe Republican?

NYM, I don't agree that the Midwest or half of New England will become safely Republican anytime in the foreseeable future, but you mock anyone who says pretty much anywhere is trending Republican.  You can't possibly believe the Democratic Party will just continue to enjoy gains everywhere until the EC is just theirs for the taking every election.

Nah, I find the people who say Democrats will somehow turn Texas and Arizona into safe Democratic states just as ridiculous.

That's the second most ridiculous part of Kingpoleon's map, infact.

According to me, the republicans picking up the MW, a higher share of the white vote would be needed.
I dont think that will happen. They will likely overperform among the latino vote, putting NV, NM and CO again.

So Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico become more Republican than Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma? Illinois and Michigan become more Republican than Missouri and Iowa? Georgia and North Carolina are more Democratic than Pennsylvania and Connecticut? Alaska is more Democratic than Maryland? WTF is even going on in this map? Huh

Prediction: Post-2016.

It can't be too incorrect forever.
