No.  I was there 5 or 6 years ago.  I can't remember right now.  DIA is the pits though.  Was Stapleton worse?

Sounds like half of the airports we've all been to once too often.  Denver had great food...the downtown was just like most urban areas except for their miles long pedestrian street, but man alive the best Vietnamese, Irish and bar food I've ever had.  I was working a convention for a large organization so I was a bit limited as to my free time and I didn't get to see as much as I wish I could have.

The area has a lot of sprawling suburbs and exurbs that aren't too great, but Denver itself is a decent city.  Of course, the access to the mountains is another big plus.
