I know it's a jaded question, but I haven't seen one of these polls yet and I am wondering.

I'm more of a Republican than a Democrat, and those are the only two real choices.

Republican. A white Southerner has no room in the Democratic Party after 2000.

I like you Miles. I like John Bel Edwards, but Democrats of your ilk aren't exactly thick on the ground anymore. I can count the number of Democratic congressmen I'd vote for on one hand, and my healthcare plan is to the left of Obama's Tongue

I have a blue avatar due to my firm support for the Conservative Party of Canada. In America, I'd be  a GOP-leaning independent despairing the way both parties are going.

I'm an independent in Canada (leaning slightly towards the NDP) but would be a solid Democrat in the states.

John Bel Edwards only has a chance due to Jindal and Vitter being human scum. Democrats think all Southerners are inbred hicks, so why would we want to vote for them? We're their boogeyman.

Ideologically, I'm somewhere between the Constitution Party (the economic populism) and the Libertarian Party (everything else), but I think the GOP is the best vehicle to deliver my bizarro brand of paleoconservatism.

Interestingly, the script almost seems to flip when you compare Edwards with Jindal/Vitter.  Both Jindal and Vitter were privileged Rhodes Scholars and came from very academically-oriented families, whereas Edwards was the Honor Code head for his class at West Point and is also quite religious.  Edwards's background "feels" more Republican whereas Jindal/Vitter seem to have backgrounds that "feel" more Democrat/liberal.  I bet Edwards's background, which he emphasizes heavily in his ads, is part of the reason why he appeals to voters there - he's certainly not the type of Democrat you see on RationalWiki, has an intellectual superiority complex, or who would be a big-time Neil Degrasse Tyson fan, the type who would be absolutely anathema to the South.

Green Party, just not on immigration/asylum-related topics because I think 95% of their voters are naive and dumb when it comes to it. And I'm a little more fiscally conservative than the average Green Party base.
