These refugees don't speak our language, the Germans confiscate all property of emigres so they come in destitute, and, let's be frank, they'll never assimilate into our culture or way of life. If you're sympathetic to the plight of German Jewry, donate to the Red Cross or to the many Jewish relief organizations that exist.

In all seriousness, posterity is going to absolutely hate us for fence-sitting on the refugee crisis and, if anything, Obama's outspoken support for the Syrian refugees will singlehandedly bump him a good 5 places or so on those horrible "rate the Presidents" list by the 2050s even though the nearly 200,000 refugees we take in will be barely 5% of the total.
