Basically says Dems would redo the Akin strategy with Cruz. Problem is Cruz isnt Akin.

Cruz would do no worse than Romney.

Ted Cruz is probably the most clever among these candidates, whether that's a good thing or not. He is no Akin and is probably the furthest-right politician who could actually get elected America has seen for many years.

Meddling in primaries is how the GOP ended up with FDR. It can backfire.

It's also a pretty underhanded and shameful thing to do if you ask me. I wonder how Huff Post would feel about the GOP elevating Bernie Sanders to the Dem nomination so they could beat him.

Democrats aren't dumb enough to give the nod to Bernie though just because he's the most liberal, as you can see from his inability to break past around 30% in the polls outside of his backyard in New Hampshire.

Republicans would see through this. Also, Cruz is not the least electable candidate, IMO. His intelligence may be vastly overrated by this forum, but his electability is a bit underrated by the media. I think he'd lose, but Democrats should hope for someone like Carson to win the nomination, as he would likely get destroyed in a GE, in a way that Cruz probably wouldn't.

I don't see why they wouldn't just want Trump to get the nomination. Carson says some crazy things but has a certain likability factor that Trump couldn't buy with all his money.
