let's just all pretend that Ernest never made his announcement that he wasn't running and imagine that he is indeed running against the current front-runner, Peter Bell. 

also, whom would you have voted for?

Well first off there would be other candidates. Secondly there is also preferential voting. Thirdly, why don't you use proper grammar? You capitalize the beginning of sentences!

Ernest would win Indiana, but Peter was the extremely popular Governor turned Vice-President.
