Edwards.

I'm unwilling to believe that the polls will be off by 10-25%.

Hoping for Edwards.

But Louisianans could just wakeup with vitter instead since the kentucky race is making me put this into a close tossup.

Edwards, but it will be closer than I thought a couple weeks ago (unfortunately, Atlas won't let me change Safe D to Lean D or even Tossup).

Side note: Should Vitter win, who would appoint his Senate replacement- Vitter or Jindal?  Could Jindal appoint himself?

Vitter would probably resign after becoming Governor-elect and Jindal would have a small time frame to appoint someone. Or Vitter can wait until the very last second to resign, become Governor, and appoint someone himself.

Louisiana requires a special election to fill senate vacancies, though. But the Governor can (and has to?) appoint a replacement in the meantime. I don't know if this person can also run in the special though, but I don't see why not.

Edwards win 52%-48%. Vitter and Jindal continue their vicious rivalry, and I think that Vitter may step down in 2016 in the Senate.

I'm hesitantly sticking by my prediction of Edwards by just under 3.

Yes, and it will be wonderful to see the John Edwards supporters on this forum weep. The People's Champion, Valiant Vitter, will prevail once more!

If he loses, anybody who pulls the "Bel would of won if he just campaigned as a Liberal and a hidden group of hardcore leftists would of pulled him to victory and this is why all candidates should be forced to run on a liberal platform!!!"

has permission to shoot my arm off.

Bel Edwards ran a great campaign, I don't think he would deserve any of the blame if he lost. The blame would solely go to Vitter for running a scummy last minute campaign on hating brown people.

Obviously, even if he loses he deserves a sh**tton of credit for making a race a tossup where democrats have lost hope after Landreiu's lost last year.

I hope he wins since if he does it might send a message to the democrat base to stop chastising people who aren't as left as they are.

And that even if your in a state where its heavily lean GOP, there's still a chance you Come from behind and perform stronger than your Presidential candidate. With a strong campaign.
