Favorite Great Lake. Go!

For me, it's Huron. I think it's less developed shores, islands and clear blue water top my list. But Superior is a close second.

My list would be:

1. Huron
2. Superior
3. Michigan
4. Ontario
5. Erie

Do you hate water or something? You know your body's like a lot of percent water, right?

Nah, noting against water. It just that combination of my hatred cold weather, this forum's love of Upper Midwestern states, and BRTD has caused to hate anything having to do with the Great Lakes.

I'm not surprised by that answer coming from someone who doesn't know what Great means.

In all seriousness though, I voted Lake Superior. Lake Michigan and Lake Huron are really the same lake.

Lake Superior, of course, though I do still miss Glacial Lake Agassiz. And Lake Michigan-Huron is just one lake.

Ontario > Erie > Huron > Superior > Michigan.

They're all pretty good though, tbh.

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion.
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams;
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her, ...

haha.  You beat me to it.  I was about to say that Michigan and Huron are just two lobes of one great lake, which is superior to Superior.

For me, Lake Superior, no doubt.  I first sailed on Superior (shallow-draft markoni fractional rig), first fished on Superior (with hooks and worms!), and had some of my first non-pool swimming there (in late July, when the water is still very, very cold.)  I've visited all of the great lakes, but only Superior holds superior childhood memories for me, so that's how I voted.
