In 1996 the US Congress passed the 'Telecommunications Act', it freed the hands of big capital in gaining control over all American media. As a result, today, 90% of American media and the most widely read information Internet portals are effectively controlled by 6 media giants who work under the governmental censorship: CNN, CBS, VIACOM, COMCAST, Time Warner and NewsCorp.
