Scott Walker: Has a $2.2 billion deficit in the budget before running a 2 month failed presidential campaign, only to come back to his state and have a 20+ negative approval rating.

David Vitter: A scandalous opportunist who lost a Governor race by 12 points in a R+11 state and then retires his Senate seat the following year because of it.

Hmmm...

Vitter. While Walker's in a bad place, he could conceivably come back eventually. Vitter seems to be done for good.

Vitter, easy. He took what should've been a coronation and turned it into a rout.

David Vitter tried to bully his way to the Governorship but didn't realize he would be facing John Bel Edwards, who is an actual military guy and would not tolerate his BS.

Conway ran a horrible campaign and lies to coalers like everyone else, but any D candidate would have a hard time navigating the death spiral coal in that region is having.

Vitter.  He went from an early frontrunner to a loser.  And no, it was not an "upset"; it was more of a come from behind win for Edwards.  The only way it would've been an upset is if Vitter were winning in the polls before the runoff (which he wasn't.)

Scott Walker will be governor for a while. He could recover if he is able to throw red meat to his supporters. David Vitter has wrecked himself.

Why did he run for Governor? Just look at how badly the Governorship of Kansas has gone.

David Vitter has put his Senate seat, something that should have been sure, at risk.

Scott Walker will never be President -- but that was always a long-shot proposition. David Vitter's political career may be ruined.

Military guys are great for the Democratic Party because they defuse any stereotypes about liberals being weak, ineffectual, etc.  Interestingly, the converse - Republicans nominating Ivy League-educated "intellectual" types - doesn't seem to work so well (Jindal/Vitter were Rhodes Scholars after all) because those standard-bearers either have ethical problems or shill too much.  Democrats would be smarter to try to recruit more military types to run for statehouse/governor/Senate like Mr. Edwards, no doubt about that.

David Vitter.
Second is Jeb! followed by maybe Scott Walker. The two of them went from the favorite and runner-up for the nomination to a long shot and a dropout.

Vitter's career in politics is over.  Walker can easily come back from his current setback.

Vitter.  He's completely finished.  Walker got out of the race early enough to avoid completely tarnishing his image.  He can sit out a couple rounds and get back in methinks.  I can also se him being in a Republican cabinet possibly.  Vitter not so much

Vitter.  Not only did he manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, he also wrecked his reputation in the process.

Vitter should have NEVER run for Governor. Although he got away with the sexual indiscretions in 2010, he could not do so this time. He has been so exposed that even if he did run for re-election in 2016 he would be a brittle target for any Democrat.

Walker could be a VP selection in 2016.

Vitter. His political career is finished, and the Louisiana Republican Party is finished with him. Other losers of 2015: Jon Bramnick (Republican Assembly Leader in N.J.), Jack Conway (Kentucky Atty. Gen, Democratic gubernatorial candidate)

Walker has had his ups and downs. He could recover. Vitter is through.
