how many registered voters there were in Mississippi for the election on Nov. 3 ?

I cannot find anything about it, but I believe MS has voter registration, no ?

I cannot even find VR numbers for 2014 for that state.

Besides, the MS SoS page and election reporting is like from the 18th century.

On the other hand, it's pretty easy to find numbers for KY and LA on their SoS pages.

I've looked before and never been able to find it.  I assume it's part of their traditionally massive resistance.  South is gonna rise again.

It's definitely not on the site. The Clarion Ledger had some registration numbers from the MS-01 contest earlier this year but when I asked where the author got the numbers she said she had to ask for them. So that may only be for media members. I would try emailing the SOS office, but it usually takes them a little while to respond. I asked this summer for the flag referendum results by precinct and it took them 2 weeks to finally tell me that it was not on their files.

I'm fairly certain the MS elections office is the worst in the country.

We're a little better than Alabama.

Alabama's pretty bad, but at least they have this page. AFAIK, Mississippi only has hand-written PDFs of election results by individual county. I mean, how hard is it to use Excel?

We quit doing hand written PDFs a few years ago, it's still in PDF form but the numbers in the sheet are now typed.

This is as close as I could find (page 12):

So an approximation: 1,839,823 +/- 9,000 voters.
