First of all, for the record, I personally oppose spying on anyone because of their religious beliefs so long as their beliefs are not negatively impacting others. The vast majority of those who are of the islamic faith in the United States are peaceful.

What Rand Paul is saying about Donald Trump is spot on. We should not be treating muslims the same way Hitler treated the Jews when he first came to power prior to the genocide he created. I also find this development telling about the differences between Rand Paul and Donald Trump. On specific policy, clearly Senator Paul values freedom while Mr. Trump does not. But this also goes to the character, judgement, and intelligence of both men. Rand Paul is an eye surgeon, Donald Trump is in real estate. Neither are lawyers. Yet, Rand Paul took the time to study the constitution while Mr. Trump doesn't understand the constitution. A President has to learn information and make decisions quickly. Senator Paul is willing to take the time to learn, Mr. Trump is not.

The two proposals are very different. Rubio wants to use the NYPD's pattern of spying on places where terrorists might be infiltrating. Trump wants to mark every Muslim as a suspect based on their religion.

I am not sure that plan of Trump and Rubio to spy on Muslim Americans is BS. Under presidency of Obama many security agencies are spying on citizen collecting their data without permission of citizen. If one of them will become our president, BFI and others will not change their habits to spy on us if needed.
