This has my full support.

Given that we're about to change the structures of Atlasia significantly, and, almost certainly, wipe all current laws from the statute book, it is absurd to continue debating trade regulations or whatever. We don't know what kind of country we're going to be operating in in a few months. Making laws for it is an exercise in futility (even if they don't get wiped!).

I would be open to the Senate continuing strictly in the form of committees on various topics like devolution for the regions, but I think it's clear that ordinary business should stop until the Constitutional Convention has concluded and the dust has settled. Otherwise we're just wasting our time.

What's the point of having a senate then and beyond any doubt the activity levels will plummet like we've never seen it.

Why not? Anything that happens will likely be wiped anyway. What's the point in going around in circles?

Of course we should have suspended all government, including the Presidency, and focused entirely on the Convention, but that ship seems to have sailed.

We have some very interesting and enlightening debate here. It's not only about the end; sometimes it is also about the journey.

I will not support this.
We are still debating various bills and there are other bills that needs to be discussed.

The current government serves as a guarantee of continuity of Atlasia as a game. We should not just get rid of it.

I am not comfortable with nullifying the Senate's ability to address emergencies. Additionally, I would question the wisdom of shutting down a third of the federal government indefinitely at a time when inactivity is already a major problem: if we want people to engage, we need to give them as much to talk about as possible. So what if most of what we do gets struck down when the new Constitution goes into effect? As PiT said, getting there is half the fun.

The Senate should devote all its time to passing a new constitution.

We can include a provision maintaining that we may act during times of emergency.

There weren't objections.
A final vote is now open. Please vote.

NAY - but I agree with the sentiment that the ConCon is the single most important issue before us.

Nay and I'm quoting what Truman said.
The ConCon is the most important thing right now, but the Senate is an important part of the federal government and we can't get rid of it.

This bill has enough votes to fail.
Senators have 24 hours to change/add their votes.

The resolution failed to pass, with 6 Nays and 4 Senators not voting.
