For other posters:  who are your favorite posters who have the opposite party and/or ideology to you and why?

For me:
-Skill and Chance (really good analysis of elections and does a nice job separating ideology from predictions)
-Mr. Illini (similar reasons to Skill and Chance)
-Hydera (great analysis of economic data and again, pretty even-handed about things)
-mencken (though he's a very nominal Democrat so I'm not sure if he counts, but he always has something interesting to say in his posts)
-Nathan/Madeline (boundless knowledge over many domains, and always very in-depth)
-Mung Beans/MormDem (I often mix up the two, but both are very good posters all-around)
-BRTD (appreciate his religious convictions, and he has some quirky but cool interests)

There are many others obviously, but those are the ones that come to mind right away.

There are more, but the three that come to mind first:

Sunrise: He's conservative, but very pleasant.  I respect that he's not afraid to take some pretty unpopular foreign policy positions.

Tmthforu94:  Nice and has long been an active, productive poster on the forum and fantasy government.

Supersonic:  Haven't seen much of him recently, but while I often disagreed with him, his posts tended to be straightforward and easy to read.  He was certainly not a hack and he could be funny.

@rfayette:

Mung Beans: Chill warmonger that loves the O.C.

Me: Blunt, caustic, and hotheaded peace-nik with no love for the O.C. at all.

As for the topic on hand, I find the average Atlas Republican much easier to get along with than the average Atlas Democrat, so this is actually very tricky, but I will say rfayette is up there.

Leinad's probably the best libertarian though.

My favorite libertarian-leaner is probably wormyguy. PiT was/is pretty good but doesn't post much anymore. Same with jbrase. It's pretty hard to choose, though.

Madeleine (literally a saint)
SWE & TNF (Marxists unite!)
TDAS (all around nice guy, one of my favorites)

To name a few: Clark Kent/Superman, LibertarianRepublican, and Free Bird all seem like decent enough people.

-Mr. Illini (similar reasons to Skill and Chance)

Thanks, my friend. I appreciate your insight as well, even in times of disagreement.

In addition to RFayette, muon is a clear choice for his insight into Illinois issues and just in general. Also King, even though he is a "RINO." RINO Tom as well. Goldwater too, among others.

Hmmm...classifying myself as right-of-center for the purposes of simplicity...CrabCake, Truman, Griffin, evergreen, and Darth E-Bear NC all come to mind. Also Kalwejt, if he was still here.

It's tricky, I like most of you and can tolerate the rest. Hard to include people rarely or never active in Atlasia on my list, simply because I spend lots of time there so that group is fresher in my mind. The list is far from scientific.

Thanks, but I don't really have an ideology anymore. Tongue I just believe in the reality of greed and trying our best to navigate those waters so that the littlefolk can at least eke out an existence.
