Users are pumping out threads with sensationalized and exaggerated titles. This causes most people to come to ridiculous conclusions. Let's see who tanked their campaign today. Oh wait, it didn't actually have any effect. Are people so fed up with the current polling that wishful thinking has taken over and completely clouded over any sense of reason we have left within ourselves? Have we lost it?

I've shadowed Atlas as a guest for about 4 months, so yeah, my sample size isn't significant in relation to the entire history of this forum. Still, in my opinion, things seem to have steadily gone downhill since the beginning of the 4 months I have been tracking.

2012 was a bit weirder in that about 13456 different past-their-sell-by-date politicians had a turn as the 'anti-Romney' within the space of about six months.

I was looking at the posts from 2008 and 2012... It was just as awful, but in slightly different ways.

Watching the 2016 elections is like being a participant in an H.P. Lovecraft story.

I am sensing two things from this forum.  The first is there is a lot of boredom and immaturity.  See the "best looking spouse" thread.  And the second is there is some political hackery.  There is one poster in particular who constantly starts scathing threads about every candidate other than the one they support.

Some people, not naming names but eric82oslo, seem to have mental breakdowns, yes. Very sad, but also, in some ways, very beautiful.

Lots of polarization between Further to left democrats with moderate democrats and further to right republicans with moderate republicans.

Before it was Democrats vs Republicans and now its four groups against eachother.

Yes, Trump's energy levels have proven so high that poor Eric has blown a fuse. Sad RIP.

The Sandernistas on this board are entertaining though.

It's more establishment v. outsiders, and their respective supporters (i.e. Bush/Rubio v. Trump; Clinton v. Sanders/O'Malley)

We need someone to start a sanity thread.

"Yes, including me."

Because of all the insanity here, I have been cutting my involvement to these boards.
It might be a good idea to take a break for a while.

It is like the statement from the movie AS Good As it Gets,
"Sell crazy some place else, I'm all stocked up here."

Like 90% of this subforum is sh**tposting/trolling.  I don't think it's "insanity", it's just redditification, the same sh**t going on in every other white teenage boy hangout space on the internet.

But yeah, the election cycle has driven me a bit crazy, but I think it's mostly because I'm unemployed and bored lol.

In 2012 we knew the incumbent President very well. In 2016 the incumbent President will be irrelevant unless a failure.

I'm most definitely losing my mind.

The Hillary vs Sanders fans battle, GOP vs Dems overall, unexpected twists (Old Jeb struggling), Hillary vs GOP, twisted primary battle of real politicians vs outsiders, Trump frenzy starting to become living reality, GOP attempting to slaughter Hillary at every end, email bananza, you name it. It's a reality TV show this time around, gets exhausting.
