Essex county seems to have more in common with its neighbor of Coos county, NH, than the rest of Vermont. Essex county voted for Bush twice, and in 2012 one of the two towns won by Romney in the state was in Essex county. The county's population is down to about 6100 from an 1890 high of 9500, making it the least populated county in all of New England.

Four towns in Windham passed resolutions to impeach Bush in 2006, including the "shire town" of Newham. Newham's population of 1684 is only slightly higher than it was in 1820 when it had 1502 people - it's population dropped to a low of 662 in 1930 and has been slowly rising since. Largest city in the county is Battleboro (pop. just under 12000). Overall county population is estimated around 43-44 thousand. The population of Battleboro voted to call on their police to indict and arrest Bush and Cheney in 2008.

Also do you think this is the "right" board for this series or should it be somewhere else? I originally meant to post it in forum community but people answered the poll anyway even though I posted it here. This series probably has more to do with politics than a typical place vs. place poll (NYC vs. LA for example would have much less to do with politics). If nobody cares one way or the other then I suppose it doesn't matter.

Both are far too cold are rural for my tastes. Windham, I guess, since it's somewhat less empty.

Like Michigan, both seem okay, excellent weather and type, so I'll have to go with the land of Democrats to decide, so Windham.

What's the  logic behind order for the states anyway?

Well yeah, that much is obvious. But I guess that's what this forum full of masochists is into.

Well yeah, that mush is obvious. But I guess that's what this forum full of masochists is into.

That goes especially true for me. As someone from the Deep South, my ass begins to shiver at 45 F.

Yeah, if you guys were from Maryland you'd understand that the worst part of weather is when it randomly goes from 30 to 70 for no apparent reason. Heat and cold themselves are not so bad.

I grew up in Reno. Don't try to lecture me on huge, random, and unpredictable temperature changes. Tongue
