I think the obvious answer is New England. For bonus points, which state?

Probably West Virginia, ethnicity-wise.

Maybe New York State? NYC could be a lot like London.

Probably West Virginia, ethnicity-wise.
I guess I forgot the high Middle Eastern population in West Virginia.

Going by ethnic background, the most British city in the US is Hildale, UT - you know, the one that's basically a police state run by the FLDS Church? So, yeah...

A friend of mine who I bum cigs from outside the porch of the liberal arts building did an independent study class of an island off the Virginia coast that has remained virtually untouched by us Yanks since the revolution. Apparently their accent is one of the closest things alive to how English sounded back in "the day".

The suggestion in that article is that they sound like they're from the West Country, which is hilarious if true.

Here's a video of how people in Tangier speak - very interesting, I've never heard an accent that sounds quite like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIZgw09CG9E

Hah, a lot of those sounds are... familiar. Delightful. More so with the singing at the start than the people talking, actually.

Not to mention the island was so loyalist that it became a British military base during the war of 1812. This was the British home base for their attack on Baltimore that inspired the creation of the national anthem.

The English spoken in the Deep South is the American dialect that has the most in common with British English.

Massachusetts, mix of Irish & Italian culture. Romams were in England, and alot of buildings in Boston and London are Old English or resemble Roman culture.

Martha's Vineyard and Kennedys are where the old colonial ships were stationed at.  No question it is Boston and then it is Philly & DC.

Yes, Roman constitution is a model for the US Constitution architecture and all and author is James Madison.

None of the US is especially British, but Maine is the obvious answer.
