I was going for the type of person who would vote for Trump, but come to think about it, Trump himself fits this description as well.

Reagan democrat. Voted Reagan twice because of how bad things were under Carter and how good things were in 1984. Voted Bush because Reagan third term and Willie Horton. Voted Perot because down with NAFTA. Finally votes Democrat in '00 and '04, but after Clinton is defeated by Obama, refuses to vote Democrat again. (Not out of loyalty for Clinton, but turned off by Obama) By now a Republican, supports The Donald.

This person would be a blue collar worker, perhaps from the upper south.

Texas Republican who has personal beef with Dubya and is an Astros fan.

In reality, probably somebody in North Carolina. This voter worked in a factory for years, but was laid off when the factory closed down. He loved Perot's anti-NAFTA stance and thus voted for him. Said voter came to dislike George W. Bush during the campaign cycle and liked Gore's moderate stances. In 2004 he supported Kerry because he really liked John Edwards and hated the Bush tax cuts. In 2008 he supported Edwards in the primary but couldn't bring himself to vote for Obama, who was too socially liberal and pro-immigrant for his tastes. In 2012, his opposition to Obama on immigration continued and got deeper. In 2016, he is all in for Trump.
