Kasich is in until New Hampshire unless his polling there drops to 4% or lower.

I think that, since the establishment is not yet forced to pick their final horse, they would like to prop up several of their "outs" for the moment.

Almost certainly. Disappointingly enough.

He's the only one to have the guts to lose every exchange he's had with Donald Trump.

I don't get the sudden dismissal of Kasich. He is a longshot and had a bad debate but he is better off than most of the so-called establishment candidates.

It only counts as most if you include Lindsey Graham and Carly Fiorina as "establishment candidates". Jeb Bush is doing better than Kasich and I'd say Christie is slowly but surely moving ahead of Kasich.

Bush and Kasich are tied in NH and Bush is trending down. Kasich has more money than Christie and is also outpolling him in NH and reportedly has a better ground operation. Fiorina is certainly trending down and could easily lose a spot in the next debate.

Clearly Rubio has the hot hand right now for the establishment wing but Kasich is trying to  make a play for establishment types who want an older more experienced governor. There have been reports for a while about Bush's supporters getting cold feet.

I'm not saying by any means that Kasich is in the top tier, but he is not irrelevant like Graham and Pataki. And in the last week or so he has people talking about him so this new anti-Trump posture has changed the negative narrative coming out of the FOXB debate.

He's in the bottom tier and on his way down.  The dismissal is primarily because his debate performances have made it abundantly clear that he isn't going to suddenly reverse course and start moving up.
It's also irritating that he's cluttering both the debate stage and the NH standings.

Kasich is a dead horse, I mean front-runner. It is a well known fact that dead horse or a blown horse will not run. Also i think he is too religious politician fighting with abortions, lgbt, unions and any social programs. But he accepted Obamacare and widely promotes it!

At this point, John Kasich wants to be Marco Rubio's running-mate. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the two have an agreement - Marco Rubio will run a campaign based on issues and he will charm voters while John Kasich will play the attack dog against Donald Trump and Ben Carson. Then, Marco Rubio will win the nomination and select John Kasich as his running-mate, and the two of them will carry Florida, Ohio, and defeat Hillary Clinton.

Yes. It looks like many candidates of the GOP field stay in the race although they have zero chances.

Yes. He'll keep attacking Trump and the other anti-establishment candidates as long as his campaign draws breath.
