I'll support the nominee, given her ability with numbers. Smiley

Does the nominee intend to continue the practice begun under then-RG Griffin of maintaining the voter rolls on a Google Docs spreadsheet (or a similar format)?

Pardon me. I'm not a Senator, but as the Lt. Governor of the Northeast, I do have some interest here. Evergreen is, to the best of my knowledge, currently a member of the Northeast Assembly. Will she be able to perform the duties of both a Northeast Representative and the Registrar General?

How frequently does the nominee expect to be able to update the rolls?

I would really rather we avoid the Google Docs thing, frankly.

One of the things that we used to be able to do until September was copy and paste from the Census list on google docs, which made its ease of use much better. However, since then, it has been blocking people from doing that with the census list. Should you decide to continue to use google docs, would it be possible to restore this ability?

I kind of like the google docs format. Initially I disliked it because it only worked on Chrome, but at this point most stuff is becoming incompatable with this computer's default brower, so it doesn't bother me anymore.

The sorting feature is something that comes in handy.

Just do what Homely used to do and organize it by region in the main thread. We don't need another criminal action like Griffin's withholding the information because he was on trial for another violation of the law.

Otherwise I fully trust you will be a good RG.

Breaking it down in the thread is a nice option. The only risk is that you change it in one place and not another, causing confusion.

I personally like the use of Google Docs to store Census information - as Yankee noted, the sorting feature is quite useful. That said, it is not the Senate's place to tell the RG how to do their job so long as no laws are being broken.

I motion for a final vote - it is clear that the nominee is qualified, and I see no reason to prolong debate any more than necessary.

Yes, not using Google Docs or some equivalent thereof is a really stupid and outdated idea that will result in Census updates taking 2 to 3 times longer for the RG to provide. I have no idea why the switch wasn't made sooner. Has anyone clamoring for a reversal actually looked at the code via quoting that used to comprise the voter rolls? It's absurd. Via Google Docs, all you have to do is add the entries/change any existing ones with each update, and copy/paste the updated list into each category (by region, by party, etc), sort it properly and recolor-code each sheet accordingly.

Yes, there is a reason that Fritz quit sorting the way that Homely did and that is because formating it on the Atlas was a nightmare of codes.

Remember, this is one of those difficult jobs that many prefer not to do, and it would only make it more difficult to find people to fill the roll in the future if we insist on using the most complicated and time consuming means of displaying the same information.

If there is a concern about the information being blocked, isn't it possible to just download the file?
