I wasn't around before, but he did used to be a troll on AlternateHistory.com. I've seen his older posts. To be fair, we've all made a few mistakes, though.

AH.com sucks. I have an account there (I won't dare state my name as Ian would ban me for my posts here, I'm sure), and I literally avoid the Chat section as much as possible. I love the DBWIs by Caliboy (a moderator, mind you) who starts out by saying "We all know Republicans are Nazis...." and proceeds to have a liberal circle jerk.

The only good timeline at the moment is Rumsfeldia, why hasn't been updated in years.

Oh and yeah, I like Casey. Incredibly smart guy.

1. Actually, Ian doesn't really care what you do off site, though there was the time he goaded S.M. Stirling (yes, that one) into an Islamophobic rant so he could ban him.
2. Caliboy is not a moderator. You might be thinking of CalBear.

Typically I avoid comment on these threads, but even the small amounts of negativity expressed in this thread seem unwarranted, so I just want to add a generic - Huge FF - to counterbalance that if it's OK. Can't think of a bad thing I'd associate with him. Really awesome poster.
