Looks like some damage control over recent accusations of racism. My bet is these are mostly going to be 'prosperity gospel' ministers and not your typical black pastors. That being said is a savvy political move by Trump.

He literally sources white supremacists for fake black crime statistics...

Why?

I wonder how many of these won't have verifiable contact information, phone numbers, physical locations, etc?

Let's not forget how there were "thousands" of people at his campaign announcement event.

The obvious choice for Black Republicans is Carson, not the racist Trump.

As I noted in this thread the other day:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=223563.0

I do find it interesting that Carson is targeting majority black Congressional districts in the South.  Not clear that anything will come of it though.

Trump has a great relationship with the blacks.

He didn't do well with with the BET straw poll.

Democrats: Sanders 65%, Clinton 23%, O'Malley 12%
GOP: Carson 37%, Rubio 21%, Kasich 11%

It's an interesting event, although it shouldn't be that surprising that Trump can find a hundred black pastors out of the presumably 50,000 + in the country.

By the way, when I saw Trump at the GOP summit, the room was at least 15-20% black. There were literally no black people at all the entire day (in fact, I was one of the 20% in the crowd who wasn't an old white woman with a beehive hair cut and a real estate blazor on) at the summit until Trump showed up, when the crowds grew massively.

I happen to know a lot of black democrats who live in my building, with varying degrees of interest in politics. Obviously this isn't scientific, but quite a few of them (probably not a majority of the ten or so I have spoken to about politics) want Trump as the GOP nominee. Then again, a lot of working class African Americans are the biggest victims of illegal immigration when it comes to jobs.

Was this online? If so, I wonder how many white Bernie supporters posted links in their groups to it in order to generate that result? No way in hell is that an accurate reflection of the black electorate's sentiments.

Nope, it was from those in attendance at the BET Criminal Justice forum in South Carolina. Not every poll Bernie wins is online.

Yeah I'm sorry but that poll is definitely not representative of the Blacks' vote preferences on the Democratic side. They overwhelmingly support Clinton and are suspicious, at best, of Sanders.

I can understand why blacks prefer Hillary Clinton, but why would they feel any antipathy at all about Sanders?   Blacks on average have a far lower net worth than that of whites, so they would almost certainly benefit disproportionately from Sanders's policies.

Some mixture of cultural disconnect and political machinery. Minority Dems tend to favor the establishment in most circumstances and quite frankly have little in common with Sanders, whose base is the crunchy granola crowd. His campaign never sought to speak to black voters, most of whom have little to do with wealthy white progressives and don't understand each other even if they support many of the same policies.

TJ is correct. They feel like he doesn't appeal to them and doesn't understand them. They trust Hillary because they loved and remember how good things were under Bill. They also know that she's who Obama supports.

NAACP is where you Trump needs to go and reach out to blacks, just having ministers endorse you arent doing any good. Jesse Jackson and Rainbow push is also where he can draw Latino support as well.

Trump will increase his share of the white vote and still lose the presidency

I wonder if they turned anyone away so that they could maintain a round number. Bold play for the highly-sought numerologist vote, if true.
