Hey guys! I was inspired by threads such as The Hearse at Monticello to make my own interactive TL. I've decided to make mine set in the Fallout universe. Basically, for those who have not played any of the Fallout games, Fallout is a post-apocalyptic RPG set in the aftermath of a nuclear war between the USA and the PRC. Science and culture remains largely retrofuturistic, and mirrors what people in the 1950's anticipated their future to look and be like. Events established as canon will remain canon in this TL, but since the Fallout series has never established a canon lists of Presidents, I can do a TL of it without ruining the game's atmosphere or Pre-War events. This TL will cover from 1948 all the way to the Great War of 2077. Real life candidates will be used until about the 2020's, and should this continue long enough, the last election will be 2076. This is the master thread, so feel free to list comments, suggestions, complaints, or whatever here.

The timeline will change gradually as time progresses, but up until 1948, virtually everything progressed the same, save for one thing: the invention of the transistor. Instead, scientists will focus on robotics and atomic energy. Otherwise, assume all events prior to the 1948 election are identical to real life.

Prologue - Dewey Declines 2nd Presidential Run!

The New York Times - October 23rd, 1947.

Governor Thomas Dewey (R - NY) publicly declined to run for the Presidency of the United States a second time. He declared his intention to remain Governor of New York and focus on his state's needs. He did not endorse another candidate, but knowing Dewey's place in the GOP, he seemed friendly to Governor Earl Warren (R - CA). This leaves the Republicans without a presumptive nominee, but with many choices.

Primaries and General Elections will be linked as they are completed. You will have 48 hours to vote in each, though I may extend the time to 72 hours should enough people request it. Have fun.
