Since it's been a year since the last such thread I think?, I thought it might be interesting to see if/how this could have changed in 2015.

For reference, this is last year's thread: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=198579.0

Option 2 for me

I'm 37, so I'm unfamiliar with "cis-" in this context, but after looking it up, option 1.

"Hetero-normative" used to be used, and that's how I would describe myself, but "normative" probably pissed someone off in a social justice office somewhere or something.

Heteronormative is that thing where you/the media/whatever assume everyone is straight.

Heterosexual and cisgender. Also white, able-bodied male in a reasonably stable financial situation. Basically this guy: http://thehardtimes.net/2015/11/17/nothing-really-offends-me-says-walking-embodiment-of-white-privilege/

Why is "other" an option when the question asks whether or not you agree with a statement?

Excluded middle, I suppose.  Anyway, that's how I voted.

I'm certainly straight, and I don't have a problem with the fact that I have a dick and I know what it's for and I've never questioned its proper use, but I predate the made-up word "cisgender" by at least 30 years, and I find its use not only stupid and unnecessary, but mildly offensive.

I find the word "queer" offensive and if a self identified "queer" called me queer, I'd probably tell them to go f**k themselves.

"Cisgender" hasn't been used as a slur against cis people.

This.  I still find the high LGBT presence on this forum to be a conundrum other than possibly enhanced interest of gays in politics due to civil rights issues.  Still, that doesn't seem to fully account for these results.

I just copied and pasted the question and answers from last year's thread. I don't know exactly either. Ask Bacon King Tongue

I'm always surprised when hetero/cis wins even a narrow majority in these polls.

I always thought it'd be interesting to include party registration with each option, as i suspect Atlas has one of the largest collections of LGBT Republcans and conservative libertarians outside the Log Cabin Club.

This isn't just an Atlas thing; there are few political forums (putting aside the hard-right ones) that don't have a higher than average openly LGBT presence.

Yes, that would be interesting. Opened a separate thread on that topic.

I'm not sure you even need to put aside the hard-right ones, especially if you put aside "openly" instead...

This question is so wordy.  Why not just say Straight or not straight?  I had to reread the question to understand it.
