Want more customized mapping capability? Although this is still in development, I thought I would make it available for you to play with:

County map generator.
Expect it not to work from time-to-time.  Much more to come.  Feedback and suggestions welcome.

Dave

A really cool tool for creating custom county-level maps. The state maps (blank) were loading up when I first pulled it up but now they're broken (though I couldn't get it to generate any maps whatsoever, for what it's worth).

Would there be an option for it so that we could make like TL maps and stuff? That would be incredible.

I hope so. I don't know how it's gone on this long without being fixed. I'd love to have the ability to create my own county-level election maps.

It'd also be pretty cool if we could edit the state-wide election data to change who won the counties. Before you say that sounds complicated (which i hope very few of you will say), Here's a an example.

Know how Romney got around 60% of the vote in Alabama in 2012?

Well, we can type in that Obama got 51.8% of the vote, and Romney got the other 48.2% in the state. Then it changes the county map.

And if y'all want, we can also edit the amount of votes cast state-wide or by county.

Just my thoughts. I don't know how it actually works properly, though. Since it's broken right now.

Adding more from my last post...

There's also the independents. Perot for example. Although i recommend this only be used in certain elections. Like 1972 and 1992.

Using the Alabama example again. H.W. won Alabama in 1992 with only 47% of the vote. Let's edit that to where H.W. got 29% of the vote, Clinton got 28%, and Perot won Alabama with 43% of the vote. Once that's done, the county map for those results is generated.
