1928 Mainstream Conservative Parties 57.0% SPD 29.8% KPD 10.6% (SPD+KPD=40.4%) NSDAP 2.6%
1930 Mainstream Conservative Parties 44.1% SPD 24.5% KPD 13.1% (SPD+KPD=37.6%) NSDAP 18.3%
1932 july Mainstream Conservative Parties 26.8% SPD 21.6% KPD 14.3% (SPD+KPD=35.9%) NSDAP 37.3%
1932 november Mainstream Conservative Parties 29.6% SPD 20.4% KPD 16.9% (SPD+KPD=37.3%) NSDAP 33.1%
As you can see, the left (SPD+KPD) remained relatively stable during the Weimar Republic, between 35% and 40%, and the NSDAP increased through the decline of the mainstream conservative parties (Center, DNVP, BVP, DVP). I don't think the NSDAP voters were trolling. I think they wanted something radical to fight against the red threat. They knew what they were doing.
