I can't believe how many people have fallen behind the "everyone should be armed" line of thought.

Even if you are of the belief that a "good guy with a gun" is the best way to prevent shootings; surely the majority of people in the USA don't have the training, knowledge, or gun safety knowledge to be trusted with a firearm. Unless you're a gun aficionado, you're probably not familiar with things like "trigger discipline" or how to maintain a gun so as to not blow your hand off when you try to use it.  Not to mention people with anger issues, alcoholics, people with suicidal tendencies, and the easily panicked.

You want to carry a glock? Fine, no one can stop you. But all this "armed society" bull is just an NRA sales pitch to boost firearm sales. They don't give a rats ass about public safety, just their profit margins.

I wonder if the Muslim community tells its followers “There are many good Christians, many moderate Christians” and if any of them believe it.

They ought to since that sentiment is to be found in the Qur'an itself.
They ought to, since it's in the Quran.

The kind of "Americanism" that worships the US Constitution and fetishizes the Second Amendment (and the First) is a heresy in Catholicism.

Well, that's good. I wouldn't want to be accused of being a Catholic. Wink
