Ehrlich is great! If he wins next year, he might be a good VP pick.

Yes, for example. I like red apples. I'm discriminating against green apples. I guess its time for affirmative action.

"Modeled on laws in California, Hawaii and other states, the legislation would have granted nearly a dozen medical and funeral-related rights to unmarried partners who register with the state. Among the rights: to be treated as an immediate family member during hospital visits, to make health care decisions for incapacitated partners and to make private visits in nursing homes."

Anyone should be able to specify anyone to make these decisions for them, except medical "rights," whatever that is. Up to the hospital.

Of course!  You must be able to choose to date only women, or only men, or both!  Prohibiting discrimnation is bad.

He's about done.  If goes on to veto the minimum wage bill he has no shot at being re-elected... Zero.

Hopefully he vetoes that too. Otherwise, why run for re-election?

What a horrendous analogy.

We're damn sure gonna' try.  If we run solid campaigns, GOTV, and stick together... We should have little to no trouble ousting Ehrlich, holding the U.S. Senate seat, and solidifying our controll on the state legislature.

It's great you have the Balt-Washington corridor and the rest of the state barely exists.  PA we're in trouble.  Rendell can't get ANYTHING done due to our knuckledragging legislature.  Exact opposite problem MD has.  Prior to 2000 gerrymandering we were oh so close.  Now we need 10 seats in the House and 5 in the Senate as a net gain, IIRC.

I'm against affirmative action, but that was a really bad example.

We should probably take this to this PA Gov. race thread but for now, I'll address it here with one question: Are you blind?

If you aren't aware, the Legislature has worked with Rendell on many issues. One issue, though I disagree with it, was the Growing Greener question. Sports Analyst Rendell just doesn't know how to do the job. I can see it now though. They'll start using the same excuse that you are using right now. The PA GOP better be ready for it next year. If they're smart, they'll point out the number of things they've worked with Rendell on.

Well, Ehrlich just lost re-election.  He vetoed the minimum wage increase.  He's also hurting Steele's chances of winning the U.S. Senate seat.  Tie Steele to Ehrlich and throw em' an anvil.

Yes, and she was Lt. Governor to a crummy Governor. It was about time, we had Dems for 34 years straight, since Agnew.

She had solid name recognition obviously, but she was also part of a fairly corrupt administration that did'nt accomplish very much.  She ran a horrible campaign and made an even worse choice in her Lt. Gov.  Had she picked an African American rather then an old, pasty, white dude who had only been a Maryland resident for a couple months... She would have won.  Ill give it to Ehrlich, though.  He is a strong campaigner.  And as Akno said, we had a Democratic Governor for 34 straight years... It was time for a change I guess.

I doubt many people who earned minimum wage were going to vote for him anyway.

Bleh. Not that MD has a huge gay rights population, but being a poor college student, I would have preferred that min. wage bill pull through.

What a crappy choice I'll have in 2006 if O'Malley wins the primary.

I heard she's on a campaign to ban dodgeball in public schools. Enough said.

Why do you hate O'Malley so much? I've always wondered that.

This is why poor people need to be disenfranchised. Welfare whores.
