This question has probably been asked before, but why does the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution guarantee the reciprocity of concealed carry permits?

It does?  I can't carry in NY, OH, MD....or any nearby state except WV, and that's only because the PA and WV attorney's general signed agreements to that effect.

This link might help. It's scope is quite narrow as a Constitutional matter, and is mostly about enforcing judgments issued in one state against the defendant in another state.

If the full faith and credit clause worked that way, then you could just as easily bring your medical marijuana prescription across state lines. Or your gambling license, brothel permit, etc.

Or even your driver's license.

What I would like to see as an advocate for Gun rights is compromise registration.  A universal background check on weapons and ammo in exchange for nationwide Concealed carry reciprocity and opening NICS to the public for checks.
