As we all know, Trump has recently expressed support for "closing down the Internet" and banning Muslim immigration

Just as recently as a few weeks ago, no one could imagine Trump going this far.  This all just seems so unreal. The sad thing about this is that Trump hasn't been hurt by his comments at all. The base still loves him.

Soon Trump will express support for locking up all Muslims in internment camps, and his poll numbers will rise up to 60%. You guys have to remember that just as recently as two months ago, closing up the Internet and banning Muslim immigration sounded just as crazy as locking up Muslims in internment camps.

To Trump supporters, what is 'too far'? What does Trump have to say in order to make Trump supporters say "This guy is going too far"?

Can anything hurt Trump at this point?

Maybe if he announced on live TV that he is going to marry a gay undocumented Muslim Mexican immigrant.

In terms of losing the core of his supporters?  I believe that focus groups have shown that literally nothing will dissuade them at this point.

Though his statements could hurt his ability to win over primary voters outside of his core support as well as the independents and Democrats he'd need to win in the general.

I think there might be some backlash against Trump coming from the Jewish or Muslim communities.

Well, if he starts talking about putting Muslims into gas chambers - well then ... he might start collapsing.

It's at least what stopped Austrian Presidential candidate Barbara Rosenkranz (FPÖ) from gaining in the 2010 election - but in the end she still got the core, die-hard FPÖ-vote of 16% ... so ... Tongue

No, no. Internment(concentration) camps are the next step. Gas chamber comes after that.

Wouldn't surprise or offend anyone. Trump is a renowned playboy and has always had a great relationship with the blacks. He loves them and they love him.

I think Trump is already hurting himself. The Pub opposition against him is hardening. No matter what the consequences, close to half the Pubs now don't want him to get the nomination under any circumstances, period. And I doubt he will pick up many delegates from other candidates, except maybe Cruz if he puts Cruz on the ticket. That would be the ultimate nightmare, a Trump-Cruz ticket.

As said earlier if Jeb or Kasich drop out, and Christie is the one standing against Trump in NH. But, nothing else.

As long as he keeps championing policies that enjoy widespread approval among Republican voters, he'll be fine.

But didn't Trump say that laziness is a trait in the blacks?

The problem is that most media folks have absolutely zero understanding of how average Americans approach politics. They have a very hard empathizing with or understanding other perspectives.

No, many of us do get this. The majority of Republicans and Republican leaning independents are fascists. I bet you will support him when he advocates putting Muslims in camps. Because, you know, common sense. And then maybe the gas chamber, because it would be more cost effective.
