As long as he keeps championing policies that enjoy widespread approval among Republican voters, he'll be fine.
Why folks don't get this is a mystery.

No, many of us do get this. The majority of Republicans and Republican leaning independents are fascists. I bet you will support him when he advocates putting Muslims in camps. Because, you know, common sense. And then maybe the gas chamber, because it would be more cost effective.

Well said.

Ha, the same was said in the recent Labour leadership election.

Trump may well win the nomination, but I see no chance of him winning the presidency, just like there is zero chance of there being a Prime Minister Corbyn.

I think Trump supporters would even find a way to ignore something like this...

The scary thing is... what if there is another 2008 style collapse? What if the emails come back and Hillary is in serious legal trouble? Anything can happen in this crazy world.

While anything theoretically could happen, unless the Fed suddenly jacks up interest rates to 10% or so, we're not looking at an economic meltdown, possibly some slowing, but no 2008 style collapse.  Similarly, the idea that there is anything actually harmful beyond what has already come out is fool's gold for the GOP.  If there ever were anything useful for them on that server, which I doubt, it's already been long ago deleted.  I can imagine a situation where Hillary has to leave the race and let her running mate take her place, but I doubt that would do more than turn a blowout against Trump into a closer race.

Maybe if he was caught with a dead girl or a live boy, as Edwin Edwards once said.

No, his fans would praise for "carnal realism" or something.

I completely disagree

Trump has expressed support for many liberal policies (which are not policies that enjoy widespread approval among Republican voters), yet the base still loves him

The general election will hurt him, if he's the nominee.

When faced with the choice between the unlikable headmistress and the crazy kid who has matches and a tank of gas, the voters will choose the headmistress.

I think Dems shouldnt underestimate Christie or Trump or Cruz.  There is a divided electorate out there and it is a 51/49 electorate. And immigrants are competeting with blue collar white males for jobs. GOP is one CO or Va state away from presidency.

Haha I know not all Republicans are like that. Just a majority.
