does it have to do with the fact that there's sort of an overlap between the type of people in both movements (single white guys in there 20s with neckbeards who like to play video games)?

My initial thought is probably too mean to say.

Is there any actual data that shows this? I feel like you're working off of stereotypes.

Are there any MRAs who aren't also regular Internet posters?  I feel like surveying r/theredpill would give one a decent cross-section of that very niche population.

They almost certainly lean libertarian out of spite for much of society, IMO.

Most libertarians are feminists and I have no idea why you would think that Anarchists who are opposed to all forms of oppression would support a "movement" that is as reactionary as MRAs.

I don't see how LGBT and libertarian are mutually exclusive. In any case, as far as I can tell "MRA" is just   a pejorative term used to describe anybody that criticizes any aspect of feminism, so it would make sense that most "MRAs" would fall on the right side of the political spectrum, similar to how most "feminazis" would fall on the left.

If you're a rather selfish middle-class 20-something guy who finds himself very smart, who is politically engaged, who spends too much time on the internet (specifically sites like 4chan) and who is unattactive, you're probably going to be a libertarian. You're also going to be an MRA because girls don't like that type of guy.

Simple:

The right and authoritarian sides dislike any change in gender roles, regardless of the consequences they bring [though the reasons are different].

The left tend to ascribe to a one-way narrative in which only man perpetrates everything, thus they struggle to understand societal discrimination against man...unless it can be twisted to blame man somehow.

This leaves libertarians as the most open ideological medium, since they listen to civil liberties cases of nearly all kinds, regardless of the consequences.

Just going off forum, preconceived notions of stereotypes Tongue
